Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe - Convent Des Jacobins. A very good performance for this winery. The Convent of the Jacobins is characterized by an intense ruby color with purple highlights. The nose offers a bouquet of spice, licorice and. black fruit wrapped in a perfume of earth. The mouth is full, concentrated black fruit and racy tannins. A good length on a wooded still dominant sweet and flattering. Final on opulent dark fruit and spicy. Assemblage: 85% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc.
I have always liked this now somewhat underrated and largely overlooked vintage.
