The vineyard of Château La Closerie du Grand-Poujeaux, classified as Cru Bourgeois in 1932, dates back to the mid-19th century, and the estate's reputation has continued to grow ever since.
Château La Closerie du Grand-Poujeaux now belongs to the SEGUIN-BACQUEY family, who are committed to perpetuating the tradition of quality that the former owner, Miss Marguerite Douat, had herself faithfully maintained. Vines of respectable age - many now reaching forty years - allow for the continuation of this tradition.
The wines of Château La Closerie du Grand-Poujeaux are powerful and harmoniously structured. Endowed with an elegant tannic framework, they have a velvety texture that makes them particularly distinguished. This Cru Bourgeois La Closerie du Grand-Poujeaux, classified in 1932, still deserves the title of "Exceptional Grand Bourgeois Cru" that the Syndical Awards bestowed upon it in 1966.
