My second to last bottle. Last tasted almost 7 years ago. Brought out from the cellar allowed to rise to room temperature and decanted. It remains a deep purple with only the hint of 30+ years on the rim. The wine has an intriguing nose of eucalyptus, must, medicine cabinet and dried fruit. As for the palate the tannins are completely resolved. The fruit remains delicious and is primarily old/stewed cherries, plums with notes of cocoa. It has a delightful and very appealing finish with the fruit lingering on the palate long after the wine has departed la bouche. Much better than I had hoped. Quelle suprise! The wine remains strong and probably has years remaining.
