Located in the commune of Maumusson, Château Bouscassé is Alain Brumont's family estate. He was born there and made his first steps as a winemaker. In 1978, he took over from his father Alban Brumont. The vineyard then covered 17 hectares. He quickly cleared the best plots and established his vineyards along the Maumusson ridge, a hill at 200m altitude that media now compare to the foot of Saint-Emilion slopes. From 1988, Alain Brumont built a new vinification cellar at Bouscassé and a huge underground wine cellar, financed through an ingenious profit-sharing system with local companies.
